The most complete plug-and-play head unit for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring.
The SoundStream Reserve V2 (HDHU.V2) is an 8.3-inch multimedia head unit built specifically for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models. Wireless Apple CarPlay®, wireless Android Auto®, iDataLink® Maestro® vehicle integration, built-in GPS navigation, wireless headset audio without a WHIM module, and Rally Mode™ group ride broadcasting — all in a single IPx5 water-resistant receiver that mounts in the factory location using OEM hardware, with no cutting or fabrication required.
Replacing the OEM head unit shouldn't mean compromising on what your Harley can do. Most upgrades leave you choosing between smartphone integration without vehicle data, a navigation system that's already out of date, or a unit that needs brackets, adapters, and fabrication to fit. The SoundStream Reserve V2 doesn't work that way. It's engineered specifically for Harley Touring architecture — plug-and-play fitment, OEM antenna and USB compatibility, full handlebar control retention with gauges available through the Maestro® integration — with every feature a touring rider actually needs, built in from the start.
Who This Is For
Riders on 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring models who want the most complete multimedia upgrade available — without cutting, fabricating, or compromising OEM functionality. Particularly suited to riders who use iPhone or Android, want wireless Bluetooth comms for both rider and passenger without a separate WHIM module, and ride in groups where Rally Mode™ broadcasting is genuinely useful.
What This Is Best For
Daily riding and weekend touring — Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connect automatically the moment you're on the bike. Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, calls, and messages are accessible via touchscreen or OEM handlebar controls, retained through the Maestro® integration.
Long-distance touring — The 1000 NIT QLCD display stays readable in direct sunlight at highway speeds. Built-in iGo Primo® GPS operates independently of mobile coverage for remote-area navigation. For most Australian riders, Apple Maps or Google Maps via CarPlay or Android Auto is the more current and practical day-to-day solution — the built-in GPS is there when mobile coverage isn't.
Two-up riding — Pair up to two Bluetooth headsets wirelessly — rider and passenger — without a WHIM module. Configure the headsets to receive GPS navigation prompts, music, or both, so you're not fighting navigation call-outs over the music at volume.
Group rides — Rally Mode™ broadcasts your playlist to up to 300 riders within 100 metres (330 feet). No pairing limits per broadcaster — the whole group rides to the same stream. Perfect for club runs, touring groups, and charity events.
Riders monitoring engine health — With an iDataLink® Maestro® RR or RR2 module connected, the V2 displays up to 10 real-time digital gauges from 50+ available parameters — subject to the data available from your specific bike — and provides pop-up alerts for oil pressure, fuel level, engine temperature, and more, all on the main screen.
Fitment
The SoundStream Reserve V2 is a direct OEM-replacement head unit for 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson® Touring motorcycles. It mounts in the factory head unit location using OEM mounting hardware — no brackets, no trim rings, no cutting. The V2 uses the OEM USB port and integrated radio antenna with no adapters required. The OEM GPS antenna is used where the bike is equipped with one; an aftermarket antenna is available where it is not.

Retention of OEM handlebar controls, digital gauge display, and activation of Boom!™ Stage 1, Stage 2, and Harley Premium Audio amplifiers all require a compatible iDataLink® Maestro® RR or RR2 module, available separately from MAA. Without the Maestro® module, the Reserve V2 will still function as a full-featured head unit — CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, headset integration, and Rally Mode™ all operate independently — but CAN bus integration and OEM amplifier activation will not be available.
If you are unsure about your current audio configuration, particularly on CVO and Boom!™-equipped bikes, contact Motorcycle Audio Australia before ordering and we'll help you select the right combination.
Supplied and Supported by Motorcycle Audio Australia
As the authorised SoundStream dealer for Australia and New Zealand, MAA goes further than just supplying the unit. Every SoundStream Reserve V2 is shipped with the latest firmware already installed. MAA pre-configure all Maestro® RR and RR2 modules before shipping, matched to your specific Harley model, so the integration is ready to go from the start. Our team provides local technical support for your complete audio build — you're not chasing an overseas supplier if something needs attention.
Warranty
The SoundStream Reserve V2 is backed by a 5-year warranty when purchased through Motorcycle Audio Australia. Support is handled locally across Australia and New Zealand.
The Bottom Line
The SoundStream Reserve V2 is the benchmark plug-and-play multimedia upgrade for 2014–2023 Harley Touring. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, real-time Maestro® vehicle data, a daylight-readable 1000 NIT display, wireless headset audio without a WHIM module, Rally Mode™ for up to 300 riders, and a 400W Class-D amplifier with 5V RCA outputs for serious system building — factory fit, 5-year warranty, local support.
Features
Wireless Apple CarPlay® — Full iPhone Integration Without Cables
Apple CarPlay® on the SoundStream Reserve V2 connects wirelessly — no cable required, no cable to damage from vibration or weather. Once your iPhone is paired, it connects automatically each time you ride. The V2's 8.3-inch display becomes an extension of your iPhone: Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, Apple Music, podcasts, calls, and messages all appear in the CarPlay interface, designed specifically for easy viewing and single-glance operation. Control everything via touchscreen or via the OEM handlebar controls retained through Maestro® integration — your eyes and hands stay on the road where they belong. Siri® responds to voice commands for fully hands-free operation at speed.
Wireless Android Auto® — Google Assistant and Full Android Integration
Android Auto® connects wirelessly and brings your Android apps to the V2's screen with no cable needed. Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, and messaging apps are all accessible from the display or via voice. Google Assistant handles natural voice commands — ask for directions, send a message, check the weather, or find the nearest fuel stop without taking your hands off the bars. Real-time traffic data through Waze or Google Maps keeps you on the fastest route, displayed clearly on the 8.3-inch screen.
8.3" Quantum QLCD — 1000 NIT Ultra-Bright Touchscreen
The 8.3-inch Quantum QLCD touchscreen runs at 1000 NITs — bright enough to remain clear in harsh Australian sunlight, with wide viewing angles and fast touch response. Maps, gauges, and menus are easy to read at a glance without needing to lean in. The larger-than-OEM screen makes a genuine difference on long rides where you're checking navigation frequently. Night brightness adjusts automatically so the display doesn't blind after dark.
iDataLink® Maestro® Integration — OEM Gauges, Controls, and Amplifiers
With an iDataLink® Maestro® RR or RR2 module connected (sold separately), the SoundStream Reserve V2 gains full two-way communication with the Harley's CAN bus. Up to 10 real-time digital gauges are displayed on screen — choose from more than 50 available parameters including oil pressure, engine temperature, gear position, battery voltage, fuel level, and more, subject to the data available from your specific bike. Pop-up alerts notify you of critical readings so you're aware without needing to watch the gauge screen continuously. OEM handlebar thumb controls are retained and fully programmable for scrolling, selecting, and adjusting playback and settings. The V2 also activates Boom!™ Stage 1, Stage 2, and Harley Premium Audio OEM amplifiers on supported models — preserving the factory amplifier investment. The wiring harness is pre-configured for Maestro® RR and RR2 connection.
Built-in GPS Navigation — iGo Primo® with Offline Capability
The Reserve V2 includes iGo Primo® GPS navigation, which operates independently of mobile coverage — useful when riding in areas where data is unreliable or unavailable. Note that Australian maps are not pre-loaded; maps and points of interest for Australia are available for purchase and annual update through Naviextras.com. The unit uses the OEM GPS antenna where the bike is fitted with one; an aftermarket antenna is available for bikes not so equipped.
For most Australian riders, Apple Maps or Google Maps via wireless CarPlay or Android Auto provides a more current, more detailed, and more practical navigation experience. The built-in iGo system is the backup when your phone isn't an option.
Wireless Headset Integration — Rider and Passenger Audio, No WHIM Required
The Reserve V2 connects directly to OEM and aftermarket Bluetooth® headsets and helmets without a Harley WHIM module — simplifying installation and removing a common point of failure. Pair up to two headsets simultaneously, covering both rider and passenger. Configure the headsets to receive GPS navigation prompts, music, or both — so you're not fighting navigation call-outs over the music at volume. Particularly useful on long two-up touring rides.
Rally Mode™ — Group Ride Broadcasting for Up to 300 Riders
Rally Mode™ turns the Reserve V2 into a broadcast hub for your group ride. Stream your playlist to up to 300 riders within 100 metres (330 feet) — all riding to the same music simultaneously. Riders with Rally Mode-equipped head units or accessories pair to the principal broadcaster's stream; the broadcaster controls the music, paired riders listen in. Name your stream so your group knows which bike to connect to. There's no limit on the number of users who can pair to a single broadcaster — Rally Mode's architecture is designed for large groups, not just pairs.
Serious Audio Performance — 400W Class-D with Full DSP
The Reserve V2 is built for proper motorcycle audio system performance, not just background playback. The built-in 400W peak 4-channel Class-D amplifier is 2-ohm stable — enough clean power to drive high-performance fairing, lid, and bag speakers directly, or to serve as a head unit in a multi-amplifier build. Five-volt RCA outputs for front, rear, and subwoofer channels give downstream amplifiers more signal to work with, reducing noise at high volume. The 15-band digital equaliser includes preset and custom settings. High-pass crossovers operate independently for front and rear channels; low-pass and subsonic crossovers cover the subwoofer RCA output.
Rear Camera Input
An RCA video input with 12V trigger support and an on-screen shortcut allows connection of an aftermarket rear-view or reverse camera. The camera feed displays on the V2's 8.3-inch screen, triggered automatically on reverse or manually via the shortcut. Pairs directly with the HD Vision V2 rear camera for a clean, integrated solution.
Bluetooth® Audio
Independent of CarPlay and Android Auto, the Reserve V2 supports standard Bluetooth® audio streaming and playback control. Stream music, take calls, or manage playback over a direct Bluetooth® connection when a full CarPlay or Android Auto session isn't needed.
IPx5 Water Resistance
The Reserve V2's faceplate is rated IPx5 — protected against direct water spray from any direction. Built for long-term use in real riding conditions: rain, dust, and wash-downs included.
SiriusXM® Ready
The Reserve V2 is hardware-ready for the SiriusXM® SXV300 vehicle connect tuner (sold separately). SiriusXM® satellite radio services are not available in Australia, but the capability is present for riders who spend time in North America or import the unit for US-market use.
